The spiral idler is primarily used to remove debris adhering to the conveyor belt and also helps with slight belt misalignment correction. Our company’s spiral idlers feature a novel design, easy installation and maintenance, self-centering for smooth operation, anti-sticking properties, low noise levels, minimal energy consumption, and extended service life for the conveyor belt.
Cleaning Function: By welding left- or right-handed helical round steel bars with diameters ranging from 10 to 14 mm onto the roller surface, or by adding a spiral groove and casting a rubber sleeve onto the outer surface to enhance wear resistance, the entire roller can effectively remove adhering materials from the conveyor belt. This ensures optimal durability of the belt in belt conveyors. Self-aligning and Anti-deviation Function: In the roller assembly, both side rollers are equipped with tapered helical designs—but with opposite thread directions. One side roller features a left-hand thread, while the other has a right-hand thread. As a result, the lateral forces applied to the conveyor belt are directed precisely toward the centerline. When the belt is in motion, the helical structures generate axial forces that help keep the belt properly aligned and prevent it from drifting off course.
